Hello guys! !Here Sn2ckerspup!
In a new post today!
In which I bring you something unrelated to Club Penguin Rewritten, but I think many of you will care. And it is that today on the Club Penguin Island blog it was reported that the sad news that Club Penguin Island closed later this year ... (The exact date is unknown)
1) The farewell of employees
This is a very sensitive issue, but two days ago we informed all the employees at the Club Penguin offices in Canada, Kelowna that Club Penguin Island would close so they would be letting go to get other opportunities.
This is suggested by a disney letter that was filtered just today...
The letter says the following:
1) The farewell of employees
"For several years now, we have experienced growing global competition, we have explored many options to improve efficiency and reduce costs. These measures have been successful to a certain extent, however, to further reduce costs and become more competitive, we discovered that we must reduce our workforce"
That in summary, however, this was very annoying for all employees since about 3 weeks ago they were told they would have work for the next 2 years to build a new product. And in the end they simply took them out of the game. Well, they were aware that the game was never so successful or was not at its best but if you do something like that .... it is quite disrespectful.
"However, the employees received about five weeks of compensation and benefits for a month, the letter suggests" |
2) The post on the blog
Today the Club team released the news on their official blog, here I leave the post so they can read it:
To our Club Penguin Fans and Family:
There’s no easy way to say this but after 13 incredible years, Club Penguin will be sunsetting at the end of this year. We’ll be providing players with all the necessary information in the coming weeks via in-game messages and updates here on Island News.
Thanks to you, Club Penguin has been more than a game; it’s been a global community where you have gathered to socialize and express yourselves. In a time when games come and go within months, it was one of the longest-running kids’ games of all time and at its height, had over 200 million accounts. Players from countries around the world showed their commitment to the game by adopting 25 million Puffles and creating over 200,000 videos.
When we replaced the original Club Penguin game a year and a half ago, we always strived to make Club Penguin Island the best mobile successor to the original game. From day one of development, Club Penguin Island has been a true passion project for everyone here at Disney but, the time has come for the party to end.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued dedication to the Club Penguin and Club Penguin Island games and for being a member of our family. We are so grateful to have shared in this journey with you. We’re excited to bring you more new experiences around all of Disney’s beloved characters and stories across all platforms.
Please look out for more information soon and as always, waddle on.

3) Conclusion
Many say it was that they hacked the site, because the truth is wrong since everything points to this closure is very serious and true. For which it is like just the 1% probable that all this is a lie. But well...
Honestly Club Penguin Island was never as successful as we expected. Well always received many mixed reviews and apart from many other users prefer the classic CPPS that there are everywhere. However this game really had a lot of potential for its graphics, designs and the many years in which this game could progress.
It is very frustrating that in the end the Super Secret Project was a failure so to speak after all. And that in the end it would only close because of Disney's own fault that he did not want to put more money to the cause.
Personally I never thought when the game would close. I do not know if it was predictable, many when they saw that the game was practically only accessible with members decided to leave it and move to other CPPS to continue with the Club Penguin of their childhood.
The game did not have another. Since 2014 we saw how it was declining and declining until they closed the original Club Penguin and "Boom", there entered the super secret project to the rescue to try to improve the situation, however this could never be possible and in the end I am now publishing here about the end of the game.
I do not know how this game will not die. Already Disney killed him as well as the entire community. That they have spent almost 13 years since the game was created so that in the end they close it because they do not want more with it is very shocking. They waste a lot of future potential, it's like a bucket of cold water for all of us who love this community.
The truth is that apparently the game will close at the end of the year, the question is how are they going to continue maintaining it if they lost so much staff ?, the only thing is that it is the moment that the whole community is more than ever united since it only remains to enjoy the last months, weeks and days that are left to this great franchise. We have not lost Club Penguin forever, let's just make the most of the last thing that remains.
