Like every villain, Herbert built a limited number of inventions with the objective of fulfilling his main objective of destroying the island or part of it. He clearly stole the parts to create his inventions. He managed to make them work but in the end they all failed thanks to the agents that protected the island.
- 1) Cage Lift: The Cage Lift is a device that is featured in PSA Mission 6: Questions for a Crab. It is located at Herbert's Base, and uses a series of pulleys and barrier to use hydraulic energy for lifting a cage that traps the player.
- 2) Mechanical Woodchopper: The Mechanical Woodchopper was Herbert's first known machine that he made (excluding the Electromagnet 3000), making its first appearance in Mission #6. He made it from the broken pieces of the Prototype Sled.
Herbert made the Mechanical Woodchopper so he could chop down the Ski Lodge, not just for wood but to stop penguins from making noise. The plan backfired when the Woodchopper's direction was reversed (after distracting Herbert with a Seaweed Pizza), so it went backwards, plummeting both Herbert and Klutzy to the Outback Pond.
- 3) Earthquake Driller: The Earthquake Driller was one of Herbert's disastrous inventions. It used the Clock Tower's prime gear to operate.
- 4) Popcorn Bomb: The Popcorn Bomb is an invention, featured in the 11th PSA mission, The Veggie Villain. It was assembled by Herbert using objects found around the island, in order to destroy the Penguin Secret Agency's HQ. As the bomb went off, the Sports Shop, Ski Village, HQ and the Command Room were destroyed and filled with popcorn. After the explosion, the PSA was declared out-of-commission and the Elite Penguin Force became the main agency of the island.
The bomb is made of a series of objects from different locations, each one had its own role in ensuring the bomb's functionality:
- One of the chairs from the Gift Shop, on which the bomb was mounted.
- A stolen Spy Phone (used to power it).
- Corn kernels wrapped in aluminum foil.
- A broken clock.
- Some pipes.
- A heater.
- When the player finds Herbert in his base, Herbert uses a Spy Phone to teleport the bomb to the HQ, and the bomb's counting starts (from 8925).
- 5) Mega-Magnifying Glass: The Mega-Magnifying Glass was a machine created by Herbert P. Bear and the main plot device of the game Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force: Herbert's Revenge. Herbert intended to use its giant lens to heat and melt the snow of the Club Penguin Island by refracting sunlight to the Mine Shack. The concentration of light made a hole in the room, creating an immense geyser which started to flood the entire island. Thanks to the team, the hole was plugged by a Herbert Statue. The invention was later destroyed by Dot, Rookie, Jet Pack Guy and the player, using blocks of ice to reflect the beam direct to the glass.
- 6) Hydra bot: The Hydra Bot is an altered version of the Hydra. It was reconstructed by Herbert. The Hydras' attacks are the same as in the Medieval Party, with the exceptions that they now shoot more lasers at a time, shoot slightly faster, and take slightly less damage when hit. Both Herbert and Klutzy switch bots throughout the battle.
Once the player enters the room, they are encountered by Herbert P. Bear. After a brief conversation about Herbert's new invention, the Hydra Bot. Herbert then starts using the Hydra Bot to blast the five spaces along the EPF Rooftop. The player must dodge the attacks, and use the same techniques from Ye Knight's Quest 3 to defeat the three heads (red, blue and yellow). Once all three are defeated, Herbert and Klutzy, who were repairing the bots, use escape pods to retreat. The player may then take two rewards: the EPF Badge Pin, and one of the three Hydra Heads (a furniture item).
- 7) Cream Soda Sticky Bomb of Doom: The Cream Soda Sticky Bomb of Doom (aka the Cream Soda Sticky Bomb or Cream Soda Bomb) was a bomb Herbert P. Bear created in his mountain lab, containing Cream Soda.
- 8) Pied Piper Machine: The Pied Piper Machine was an invention created by Herbert P. Bear, used to hypnotize puffles around the Club Penguin Island in order to collect static electricity from their fur to power the electro cannon attached to the machine. Herbert intended to use the cannon to destroy the Everyday Phoning Facility.
When operated, the machine would hypnotize puffles and attract them to a conveyor belt that led to the interior of the machine. While they were inside, the machine piped static electricity of the Puffle's fur to the cannon.
In the midst of Herbert's scheme it was deactivated by Gary, consequently freeing the involved puffles from the machine and its hypnotism, and as a result foiling Herbert's plan.
- 9) Solar Laser: The Solar Laser (also known as the High Frequency Infrared Reversion Laser) was a very powerful machine created by Herbert P. Bear. It was located in Herbert's Blackout Fortress during Operation: Blackout. It was used by Herbert to steal energy from the sun, causing the sun to be blocked out. As a result, this caused the overall temperature of the island being drastically reduced and all the buildings being covered in snow. Once the EPF Agent had breached the final Security Terminal, which was located in Herbert HQ, it self-destructed and as a result was destroyed during the mission.
After the events of Operation: Blackout, the destroyed remains of the laser were used by Herbert to create the Hot Sauce 3000.
- 10) Hot Sauce 3000: The Hot Sauce 3000 was a large bomb in the process of being built by Herbert P. Bear. The device consisted of the destroyed remains of the Solar Laser from Operation: Blackout. He intended to use it to make Club Penguin Island into a tropical paradise and as a result heat the island. To function as intended the bomb required a lot of hot sauce, causing Herbert to steal the giant hot sauce bottle connected to the oven at the Pizza Parlor.
- 11) Brain Box: The Brain Box was an invention made by Herbert P. Bear. It was most likely modified or adapted by Herbert from Gary the Gadget Guy's failed Puffle Transmogrifier invention. As the name suggests, the purpose of this invention was to mind control the wearer (in this case, puffles). Each Brain Box contained a microchip inside that resembled the color of the puffle wearing the device. The devices have only been seen used shortly prior to and during Operation: Puffle.
Collecting Brain Boxes was the main objective of Puffle Chase, a game released specially for the party. Completing all the Puffle Chase levels and obtaining every kind of microchip enabled players to access Herbert's Hoard Lair.
- 12) Snow Globe of Silence: The Snow Globe of Silence is one of Herbert P. Bear's inventions, which made its first appearance in We Wish You a Merry Walrus. Herbert intended it to be used to create a sound-proof dome over Club Penguin Island, so that he could finally live in peace and quiet. As part of Herbert's plan, he would imprison and impersonate the Merry Walrus so he could drop 'presents', which would create "a huge dome of ice over the crowd, trapping them all [the penguins] in a sound proof chamber. Although it was almost fully operational, Roofhowse caught the last 'present' in time. After Herbert gets thrown off of his sleigh, Roofhowse accidentally drops the final 'present' and Herbert (along with Klutzy) consequently gets caught in his own trap. This was Herbert's last invention before Club Penguin closed.
