Many of the old penguins have these items. Unfortunately, there came a time when everyone could get these items due to the hacks. So little by little they became more habitual. Item collectors loved rare items. They are considered rare because of their age on the island.

1) Beta Hat (2005)
The Party Hat (also known as Beta Hat) was a rare head item in Club Penguin. It was available at the Town during the Beta Test Party on September 21, 2005. It was the first free item in Club Penguin and players who attended the party could pick it up. It was widely considered the rarest item in the game, as it could only have been obtained legitimately in two 2 hour time spans during the Beta Test Party. In addition, all other anniversary hats are rare items.2) Hawaiian Lei (2006)
The Hawaiian Lei was a rare neck item in Club Penguin. All players could obtain it for free at the Dock during the Winter Luau.3) Pirate Bandanna (2010)
The Pirate Bandanna was a head item in Club Penguin. After completing the Paper Boat Scavenger Hunt at the Island Adventure Party 2010, players had to go to the Cove, and drill where the red "X" was, and they would eventually receive the item. It could also have been obtained from the 10th Anniversary Item Calendar.
4) Black Hoodie (2005)
The Black Hoodie (formerly Black Hooded Sweatshirt) was a rare body item in Club Penguin. It cost 300 coins in the Penguin Style catalog, and only members could buy it. This and the Blue Hoodie are the rarest hoodies that existed at Club Penguin.5) 150th Newspaper Pin (2008)
The 150th Newspaper was a rare pin in Club Penguin. It was hidden in the Boiler Room, and all players could obtain it.6) Admiral Jacket (2006)
The Admiral Jacket was a rare body Item in Club Penguin. It cost 620 coins in Rockhopper's Rare Items, and only members could buy it. There was also a rare white version in 2008.7) Blue Lei (2006)
The Blue Lei was a neck item in Club Penguin. All players could obtain it for free at the Dock during the Summer Party, or at the Ski Village during the Summer Kickoff Party. It could also have been obtained from the 10th Anniversary Item Calendar.8) Red Hard Hat (2008)
